Customer Testimonials

"Beautiful room in a beautiful house in a beautiful, tucked-away VT town. Everything down to the towels, the sheets, and the tablecloths was top notch. Breakfast was delicious both mornings and they accommodated my wheat-allergic fiancé with no problem. Some extra perks we enjoyed: (1) great internet connection, (2) the house and our room smelled amazing... seriously, (3) gorgeous lake view across the street, (4) their adorable, excitable german shepherd, (5) the incredible amount of antique furniture/dinnerware/decorations in the house; lots to appreciate! My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Sawyer Mansion over the weekend. The accommodations offer you an array of many cultures/countries to choose from; we stayed in the Tibet-China room. Very comfortable and cozy. The large King-sized bed was especially comfortable. Marileen and Greg (along with their dog, Bridgette, and the two cats) were fabulous hosts; very welcoming and accommodating. The delicious breakfasts were a real treat. We would definitely stay here again.

The Sawyer Mansion and Marileen and her family were a delight. The room was clean and comfortable. And we had a lovely but brief visit on our way through Vermont. Dinner a few miles away and a lovely breakfast on fine china in Marileen's lovely dining room. Off the beaten path in just the nicest possible way.

"We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Sawyer Mansion! We stayed in the French Room. The whole house was impeccably clean, warm and cozy. Marileen and Greg were wonderful hosts. Brigitte the dog was so friendly also! The home-cooked breakfasts were phenomenal. The house is full of interesting stories that will spice up your trip. Highly recommended if you're planning to visit Vermont.
